The past few months have disrupted all our lives and we hope that the summer of 2021 will provide your children with a return to normalcy. While more specific details will follow as we get closer to the summer and some things may change, I think it is important that you know the plans that we have in place to care for your children.
Extensive staff training that will address and reinforce our safety protocols and operating guidelines.
Preparation of Buckley campus to support physical and social distancing.
A focus on being outdoors. While we have an amazing indoor facility; we will be moving as many activities outdoors as possible. When this is not possible, we will be strictly following social distancing protocol, including mask wearing for both campers and staff when appropriate!
All staff and campers will be required to fill out a daily health screening and temperature check. We will also be checking temperatures throughout the day. Any persons with possible COVID-related symptoms will be assessed by our trained medical professionals.
Mandatory handwashing/sanitizing after lunch/snack, using the bathroom etc. There will be additional hand sanitizing stations throughout the camp.
Increased cleaning and disinfecting by the Buckley maintenance crew. All activity areas/supplies will be cleaned appropriately between use by groups to mitigate the risk of exposure.
We will not be offering off-site trips this summer. As we cannot guarantee the cleanliness and adherence to social distancing protocols at any facility other than our own, we will not be sending any campers off-site.
At lunch all food, plasticware and condiments will be individually packaged.
For the summer of 2021 we will be offering bus transportation! After many conversations with our transportation provider, Dell Transportation and encouraged by the success many school distracts have had with busing, we are confident that we will be able to provide bus transportation. As we have reduced our tuition rates in the fall when we were unsure if we would be able to provide transportation for the summer of 2021 there will be an additional transportation fee of $100 per week per child for those families that choose to use busing.
As we get closer to the summer, we will send out further specifics regarding our operating plan. While circumstances may change before the start of the summer, please know that all our decisions are made with the safety of your children foremost in mind.
